Small blurb:
I submitted my song "Meeting in Mini Islands" into a contest for LA.com. It was a fierce competition and there were plenty of worthy entries. For a while my song was getting some pretty good voter turnout. But by the last day of the competition it got blown away by two other artists who both had 50+ votes each. Devestated, I thought there was no way I was going to win now. So naturally I was super stoked to learn that I was chosen for the Editor's choice award.
I would like to thank the academy...oops wrong speech. I would like to thank my friends who've always been there for me inspiring, teaching, toughening, reassuring, edifying and improving me all these years. Without you I wouldn't be Franchi$e. I'd also like to thank the special girl for whom the song was written. Too bad she's too busy with getting her doctorate and working in a hospital to have a boyfriend, dorm life page or any life for that matter and read this blog. But I digress. Finally, thanks to everyone who supported me on myspace and quarterlife and tried to keep me in the running with your votes. Love you all.
A plea to humanity to release themselves from materialistic greed that lends itself to abuse and serves the powers that be. If we were to break free and live in harmony under the banner of empathy then we can truly call ourselves the HUMAN race. "Birds soar through the sky in flocks...wolves hunt the forest in packs...why then have we not come together under ONE SKY and traverse the earth in peace." - Franchi$e
This is just something I made back in high school when I had Sibelius. It's supposed to be an instrumental re-visioning of Information Society's "Pure Energy." I always intended on expanding it, but ended up only writing the main theme and the ending chorale, and since I no longer own Sibelius, there's nothing I can do about it
